COLD COLD COLD!!!! And as SOON as possible after the blood has got on your khaki pants. If it does not come out completely after trying the water try a bit of Hydrogen Peroxide and rinse thoroughly after with COLD water again. It has always worked for me...even after a few hours or days-- just soak longer. Good luck. Wish someone had an answer for my poor washing machine. D.
Cold as hot and warm will set the stain guaranteed. Using cold will give you another chance to retreat the stain. I gently rub a bit of my liquid detergent into both sides of the affected area and allow to sit about 30 minutes before washing.
Use hydrogen peroxide first to lyse the red blood cells.

Then treat with an oxygen-based stain remover (like oxyclean), and follow the instructions on the container about how hot the water should be.

Good luck!
Murderer!!! Scrub with baking soda, then soak them in cold water overnight and scrub again in the morning and rinse with cold water again. You can also try lighter fluid that works great.
If the stain isn't too large, you could try rubbing spit (saliva) into it. It works really well to break up the blood. Then wash in cold water.
Put hydrogen peroxide on it - let it fizz up and then rinse it with COLD water (hot water will make it set in). If it doesn't all come out just repeat!

Good luck!
Rinse it under ice cold water before it sets! Then wash in cold water. Oxyclean also seems to help a lot.
