If so, how much bleach in a quart of water? Is it true you can wash vegetables with water and bleach?
It would have to be absolutely minimal. One capful for every 5 to 10 gallons of water. Is it true you can wash vegetables with water and bleach?
the best thing to wash veggies with, is Peroxide, and then rinse, or Baking soda, and rinse.
Yes you can but the bleach should be well diluted.
You can use a tiny bit of bleach in dirty water (out of a pond etc.) to steralise the water and is a recommended way (if you know what you are doing) to steralise water. However you need to know the correct dilutions otherwise it can become harmful. However at low concentrations is is completely harmless.
However, having said that, water should be enough on its own to clean vegetables.
not if you're planning on eating them. Bleach? No. Water does the job just fine.
bleach mmmm that doesnt sound good
No bleach at all it will soak into the veggies and taste like crap then make you sicker than a dog, Just rinse in water you will be fine.
Yes it is true. I normally use about 1/4 cup to a quart and after scrubbing the veggies they get rinsed in plain water.
You possibly could. Many people who raise rabbits use it to keep the bacteria down in the drinking water of rabbits to help prevent them from getting sick as easily. If you were to look on the old bleach bottles they showed the bleach being used for treatment of the water in kiddie pools. It basically has the same effects as chlorine in your water. So if you have city water there is no reason to add bleach to the water, because your water already has chlorine in it.
For well water, veterinarians recommend adding about 0.75 tsp to 1 tsp per gallon of water for watering rabbits. You'll want to use regular bleach. It's probably best to only use 0.75 tsp because most bleach formulas were made slightly more concentrated a couple of years ago so that you only have to use three-fourths compared to one.
if i had to wash my veggies in bleach, i think i would purchase them elsewhere water and brush (u can buy a veggie brush) work just fine
Absolutely you can and it's 1Tbsp/Qt and rinse after. I also use this ratio in a spray bottle to clean up and disinfect my counters and cutting boards. (on the advice of my microbiologist brother)
NOOOOOOOO, DON'T DO IT!!!!!
Bleach? Are you mad?
Running water and a scrub brush is all you need. Why use one chemical to get rid of another. If it's dirt you're worried about, I'd rather eat the dirt than let bleach touch my food.
!!No bleach!! Your water should have enough chlorine in it to kill off anything. People are becoming to mush of germ-a-phobics, that's why we're getting so sick all the time. Being exposed to a little germs helps build up your immune system. If you try living in a bubble all the time, your going to get sicker then normal when you go out. Mother nature has provided us with many good germs to help us out. Bleach is going to give you the runs!!!
that doesn't sound safe...bleach is a harsh chemical
