What is the minimum temperature for hot water to wash dishes in safely?

Any temperature is fine...just make sure you use soap. Water temp has nothing to do with getting dishes cleaner. It may help to loosen dirt and grim, but the dish will be no less clean if you use cold water and dish soap. What is the minimum temperature for hot water to wash dishes in safely?
Soap is just a release agent. To sterilize one has to heat or cool to a certain point and then reverse the process rapidly to kill organisms. Report Abuse

(Note: Warm water doesn't kill germs. Boiling water kills germs. However, warm water does make grease removal from the dishes much easier. Or you could use enamel coated camping dishes which clean up nicely even in cold water. However, long-term exposure to citric acid will stain the enamel coating on enamel dishes.)

Acording to this site the water needs to be about 120 degrees fahrenheit, or you may have trouble having clean dishes.Usually on the dishwasher its self should have a temperature adjuster, if having trouble adjust the temperature on your hot water tank.
Minimum temp? Cold of course. Don't know what you mean by safely..
You are not sterilizing if washing by hand so there is actually no minimum.

You would need to reach 165 degrees to kill most bacteria that would be in excess of what you would be able to handle on you skin.

If using a machine to was the dishes 165 degrees up to steam is desirable
hot enough so you do not burn your hands that what i do make it hot as not to burn my hands.
